The Devil and Dartmoor

Church in storm

These images are from a comic I made for the Past in its Place workshop in April 2015. This flip-comic told the story of the great storm of Sunday 21st October 1638. The historical account and folklore each give their own interpretation of the reasons behind the storm which struck the church and congregation at Widecombe-in-the-Moor.

You can read the two-part comic here and here.
